I’m not sure if this is about the myths of Jamaican male models or male models in general but here we go.
Tight white briefs, crop tops, ‘girly’ colors and florals, make-up and the works! At least 3 times in every Jamaican male model’s career of over 3 years they will find themselves forgetting their manhood and crossing over for the runway or money shot! Year after Year photographers have been getting more and more experimental with androgyny and the exploration of the male/female contrast.

From Kurt Campbell’s ultra sexy sheer tops to Wade Rhoden’s man on man face off editorials – male modelling in Jamaica has taken a turn into the fray. But are all Jamaican male models gay? NOOOO!
Modelling is a job, it is something people do for money. Wait, that may come off wrong (lol). What I’m trying to say is that these fab men who throw on the kilts, sarongs, sheers and florals are working. And oh are they WERKING! They show up to work, they take instructions and they push themselves and their macho compasses to the edge of a great picture and we love it! As the modelling industry in Jamaica continues to grow and strengthen we can only hope that proprietors and onlookers alike will become more and more open minded. And to help along the process here a few myths about Jamaican Male Models.
That they are all ultra-dark skinned muscle gods, MYTH!
That They areall by virtue gay or effeminate, MYTH!
That they got crazy money, MYTH!
