With the recent release (leaked or not) of her second single (official or not) - "Towards the Sun" the Bajan pop star has got people thinking. Beyonce, Rih's hip-hop/RnB counterpart and fellow Rocnation Queen's last studio album changed lanes for her down a sexy, sometimes sleazy back alley of music with records like 7/11, Yonce and the likes. Could this be Rihanna's respondent shift into a world most abstract than what we are used to her in?
Well Rihanna has always been one for change. She keeps us guessing and she fits into every role she decides to play. But where are the white connotations coming from? Well, Four Five Seconds featuring Kanye West and the Beatles Paul McCartney was a well welcomed 'new sound' from Rih. And following up with "Towards the Sun", an anthematic warrior track with great resemblance to her featured track Princess of China headlined by Cold Play. Towards the Sun was written by Tiago Carvhalo and is the featured song on the animated movie soundtrack for "Home" starring Rihanna. From her new music we have not heard (YET) any expletives or gangster lyrics, no mention of drugs, intoxication or well, her genitals. These stripped down version of Ms Fenty has taken quite a liking to her fans worldwide as well as us here in the KB Newsroom. We're pumped for the release of her new album, ARE YOU?
DO YOU THINK RIHANNA'S DITCHING HER EDGY, 'BLACK' STYLE THIS YEAR?
