Certain kinds of support is always lacking in Jamaica. No matter what age demographic, interest type or industry you analyze, support among Jamaicans is always close to nonexistent. We don’t take well to competition and we find it extremely difficult to award anyone ‘too close to our line of work’ with a proper compliment. Take ‘where I belong’; I’m youthful, ambitious and well, you know my industry. Very few proprietors belonging to the same ‘group’ as I do support each other, and I mean really support and not the ‘oh I’m happy for you’ kind.

Anyway, enough small talk. I want to congratulate Andre Rowe on a wonderful year in fashion. He’s launched a good menswear collection on a major local runway (The Collection MoDA) and now the final fruits of his labor has produced a wonderful collection of editorial images shot by Wade Rhoden and Styled by Michael Atkinson. All the gentlemen involved did a spectacular job including my favorites; Tajae Smith and Dominic Hutchinson – the male faces of the Andre Rowe/Puma collab-. I worked with Dominic on Vulgar’s (My apparel Label) summer campaign, his first of many I’m sure. Tajae on the other hand joined ‘Doms’ on the Collection Moda Runway for his fashion debut, for him too I have very high hopes. Yay GUY POWER!
