GOOD EATS
RAISING A FORK AND AN EMPTY BOTTLE OF ROBERT MONDAVI TO RESTAURANT WEEK 2014
The Chronicles of the Editor’s foodie run to CPJ Deli, Northside Kitchen, Gimbyln at Alhambra Inn and Red Bones Blues Café for spreads of #GoodEats

My love for food and all things, sweet, salty, alcoholic and well presented is a thing most natural. So, naturally I accepted my restaurant week tour invite to indulge into my foodie fantasies along with my blogger pals.
After a long day of work at the start of a very busy week, cocktails at Cru sounded really good. Though we never actually settled at Cru for our Brandy and Vodka mixes I was still pretty pleased as CPJ Deli is no chopped liver. Back to those Remy Martin brandy and Finlandia vodka mixes though; I’m way more of a vodka guy myself and as good things comes in threes I instinctively I ordered up said three delicious cocktails for the road!

Over at Northside Kitchen’s New Kingston restaurant we were feted to Asian cuisine to include chicken wings and crab sticks. Despite my zero tolerance of all things shell food or close to resemblance I sampled the crab sticks nonetheless. It being sub-artificial I digested it well and without incident, yay me. Then came the sushi platters; the Chef’s way of apologizing for the really really long wait.

Over at Gimblyn at Alhambra Inn we met up with Select Brand’s Debra ‘The Wine Lady’ Taylor for a sinful sampling of Robert Mondavi wines and our night’s main courses. I opted for the cheesy calalloo stuffed chicken and a glass of moscato.

The night came to a quite crescendo at Red Bones Blues Café over close by at Argyle Road. Here it was tea and pastry time and to my surprise my time to win something!

Thanks to the Market Me and Restaurant Week team for the splendid experience and for every waiter/waitress, chefs and hosts that made the night a fork raising open to my week. I wish you all long life, happy days and GOOD EATS!
