Standing at 5 foot 10 inches is the no longer average Jamaican beaut; Kai Newman. At just 16 years old this Saint starlet has -in just 6 months- dominated the major Spring/Summer and Fall 2014 runway shows including but not limited to Clavin Klein, Rodarte and Marc Jacobs. With her name on the lips of the fashion world's most influential Kai anticipates getting right back to work with her sights set on scoring a major magazine cover.

A not so intimate chat with Kai Newman about clothes and things and her all too admirable obsessions.
Midway one of the biggest nights in Jamaican fashion Kai the cape crusader and a vision in red stands eloquently, smiling at timid on-lookers in silent awe of her amazing presence. All timid but one, me. "Kai, girl wonder" I said... loudly enough to be heard above the thumping sounds escalating from the Campari vip red room. I continued; "Your my new obsession, may I ask you a few questions?" I asked please out of solid respect for her and her new found life/career. She complies with a smile. Later on throughout the show we would share epic winks and awkward but comprehensive nods of mutual approval of whatever was being presented at those given seconds in time. So major, we're practically BFFs. But I digress, back to she x him.
Rashade St Patrick: Who are your favourite designer(s)?
Kai Newman: Calvin Klein and Jil Sander because they bring a different style in their collection each season.
RSTP: What's your feelings on the amazing seasons you've had so far?
KAI: Its been great so far, its been very very good, thanks to Dwight.
RSTP: What are you looking forward to for next season?
KAI: Doing more runway, I want to do all the major shows next season.

Having been thrust into the fast pace world of American and European fashion she's handled herself like a true Jamaican star, not to mention the added pressure of being revered as the new break-out black model by fashion's 'it-girl' whisperers.
