FALL'S GIFT: SCANDAL Season4
FALL IS RINGING IN OUR TV-SHOW FAVORITES. AMONG THEM... A SCANDAL
As Shonda Rhimes and ABC returns with another massive and dramatic season we anticipate the return of Ms President and Pope.
Kerry Washington has always been around, fact. Another fact is that she’s been doing this acting thing for 19 long years now with her biggest accolade being a 2013 lead actress nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Scandal. Before that, it was a Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding cast for ‘Ray’ in 2005. Not exactly a decorated actress.
Now, once up on a time a Gabrielle Union or Halle Berry would be the easy choice for the role of a sexy, strong and successful black woman in Hollywood productions. Kerry and Gabrielle were actually both in the running for the lead role in the drama. Of course Gabrielle Union trodded on to score her own lead as MJ in Mara Akil's "Being Mary Jane" on BET. Good for you girl. For me Washington’s fiercest and commanding role was as ‘Alicia Masters’ in Fantastic Four (2005 & 2007). Even then I still couldn’t imagine her as Olivia Pope the Crisis management expert/the President’s side-chick in Shonda Rhimes’ ABC drama SCANDAL.
Season 3's finale left us on a plane with Jake and Liv jetting off to some undisclosed location. We're sure Ms Shonda will more than likely have Olivia return in a big white floppy beach hat on her Jake Ballad horse to salvage the remains of her gladiators and dear Fitz. I for one is excited to see how Mellie will be presented in this season with the loss of her son and all. Let's see if the SCANDAL effect is still real.
