3 Reasons to Pork it!
Copperwood has the Best Pork in Town, here's why...
BPIT 2014 has been on since June 9th and ends on July 4th and pork lovers and new converts accross Kingston has been making full use of the promotions. From Alexander's at the Courtleigh to Jojo's Jerk Pit the Copperwood Pork distributors have been supplying the participating restaurants with the best pork in all of Jamaica, but that's just my opinion. Here's how I arrived at this opinion.
ONE Alexander's Restaurant and Pool Bar
Anybody that know's me know's that I have a huge appetite for general food with flavour, but pork is a territory I seldom visit. On my first #BPIT outing I found myself in the middle of New Kingston at the Courtleigh Hotel at Alexander's, what happened next was unexpected and delightfully welcomed. Chef Mark Dekrines' jerk pork in a perfctly spiced meat sauce, creamy callaloo and fried ripe plantains in a devilish cherry sauce was heaven to me.
TWO Jojo's Jerk Pit
Jerk for Jojo is second nature and I could tell or should I say - taste it. The pork, rice and peas and veggie was all uber delecious and definitely worht the wait.
THREE Ribbiz Ultra Lounge
My last stop was Ribbiz and boy was I nervous untilI saw my plate of pineapple topped pork chops and potato curry balls making its way to me. It was very falvourful, tender and evenly spiced and seasoned. THe curry balls were an aquired taste aand the salad was deceiving, I forgot leaves could tast so good.
I have to revisit at least one of these hotspots before July 4th and so should you!
