CHANTEL DAVIS - Pursuit of the Crown
Tired from an all day photo-shoot for the MJW competition in Stony Hill the day before this interview Chantel in her gold sunglasses, crimson lipstick, plaits and a khaki colored flowy dress looking tres magnifique. “I’m such a tomboy” she says as she begins to tell me a funny story of how she wanted to climb an off kilter tree just to get a shot at the shoot. “My husband would probably say I’m the perfect wife because I’m like the best of both worlds, I’m girly and I appreciate fashion but I still love getting dirty”
Belle – Name three things you never leave home without.
Chantel – My blackberry, tenique mango lip gloss and my Tiffany earrings.
Belle – Where in Kingston do you typically hangout?
Chantel – The Pub at Devon House and sometimes breakfast at Café Blue, they have a very low key social vibe.
Belle – Name a fashion trend past or present you’d never be caught dead or alive wearing.
Chantel – The whole Nicki Minaj look, that!
Belle – What do you like most about modeling?
Chantel – I don’t like runway I love raw and grungy print where you can actually see the essence of the model. I love Giselle Bunchen, Morlose Hoarse and Emanuela Dipala.
Belle – Gossip Girl or Sex and the City?
Chantel – Sex and the City
Belle – Which character in S&C do you relate to most?
Chantel – Carrie! Other than a fashionista she’s a journalist and I love that she embraces the idea of being in love.
Belle – So on that note, is there a Mr. Big in your life?
Chantel – There might be… (Smiles)
