Living La Vida Luca

19 year old Jamaican, NYU student and photographer at large Luca Khouri takes us through a day in his life - which includes everything from his Favorite Balenciaga sweater to ben and Jerry’s ice-cream.

8:00AM

On weekends I'm usually awake by this time because I more than likely have a busy day of shooting ahead. I take my morning shower, and do my weekly 'Ginza' hair mask that my hairstylist from Jamaica, Gregory Yapsam sends me. I also do my morning face routine using my Boscia facial cleanser and Neutrogena Naturals moisturizer.

8:30AM

By now I’m dressed because I'm shooting. I pretty much stick to my favorite oversized Balenciaga sweater, Topman Jeans, and Alexander Wang boots. I like to stay

9:00AM

I run down the street for my morning cup of Starbucks and bagel then it's back home to start packing for my shoots! I also try to catch up on emails

10:30AM

Unless I'm shooting an editorial, I pretty much style my "test shoots". (Test shoots are the shoots I do to help build my portfolio, and the portfolios of other up and coming models from some of New York's top modeling agencies) By now I should have all my equipment and all the clothes I've pulled from my friends, my closet and showrooms packed up in #thesuitcase.

11:00AM

I get to the studio; set up the lighting, as well as lay out all of the clothes.12:00PM The first model should be here at this time. They are usually my age so it’s easy to communicate with them and we get to know each other a bit. I keep the makeup and hair very natural, then get them dressed. After this, I shoot!

2:00PM

By now the first model's test shoot should be done and the second girl is on her way!

2:30PM

I grab a quick lunch from Fresh & Co, which is next-door to the studio. After this, it’s time to do 12 o’clock all over again.

6:00PM

After my shoots are wrapped I try to go for a run if I'm not too tired, either in the gym or by the Hudson River Park.

8:00PM

I meet up with my friends for dinner! I love going to Gemma at the Bowery, or Grey Dog for a casual dinner.

12:00PM

I'm basically a middle-aged man. If my friends haven't dragged me out to a party, I'm more than likely in bed editing my images from the shoots, or watching a good movie with my close friends, Ben and Jerry :)
